Name

The name URWERK is a play on the German word 'Uhrwerk', which means 'working hours'. 'Ur' in the name of URWERK refers to the ancient city of Ur in Sumeria where over 6,000 years ago people used the giant sun watch to measure time; 'werk' refers to the German noun 'das Werk' which means 'work' or 'creation'. Also 'ur' may indicate 'pure' or 'original' as in 'Urtext' or 'Urschrift'.

Collection

UR-103: The UR-103 features URWERK's rotating satellite complexity, with four domed satellites each with 3 clock numbers. At the back of the chassis there is a control board with functions: power backup indicator, 15 minutes and 60 seconds for proper timing and fine adjustment screw.

UR-110: The UR-110 displays the time on the right side of the clock so that time is easily visible under the cuff. The rotating clock satellites compensate and are mounted on the planet's wheels and follow a vertical line that is rated from 0 to 60 minutes in downward motion. Other features include "Day/Night" and "Oil Replacement" indicators as well as small seconds. At the rear, the winding system is automatically arranged by a dual air turbine.

UR-202/203: UR-202/203 uses URWERK signature satellite complications. This time a telescopic minute hand, operating through three orbiting and spinning satellites, adjust its length to follow three vectors (0-14, 15-44, 45-60) minute signals. The back of the UR-202 has a winding system governed by compressed air using a miniature turbine. UR-202 is available in red gold, white gold, black PE-CVD platinum and ALTiN. Case UR-202 ÃÆ' â € ° dision SpÃÆ'Â © ciale featuring art deco carvings by Jean-Vincent Huguenin while UR-202S, in steel or ALTiN, has a metal strap.

UR-210: The UR-210 has the world's first round winding efficiency indicator, featuring rolling efficiency over the last two hours so users know if they add or subtract energy from the automatic scrolling mechanics. At the rear is a winding efficiency selector switch that allows the user to adjust the winding efficiency of the winding mechanism by changing the amount of compression in a miniature air turbine.

UR-1001 : The Zeit UR-1001 device is the first URWERK pocket watch and features 10 complications and indications: Satellite clock, retrograde minutes, day/night indicators, running seconds, power backup indicator, satellite calendar rotating month display on plus side dates, oil change indicator, 100-year indicator and 1000-year indicator on the back screen. The AlTiN UR-1001 Zeit Device is a limited edition of eight pieces in steel treated with AlTiN with titanium elements.

LAB: The LAB collection includes UR-CC1 , showing yellow leap hours and retrograde minutes on a black anthracite background at 6 o'clock. Clocks and minutes move in linear and parallel from left to right. Seconds are shown at 12 o'clock through a rotating disk that provides a digital and linear display. Visible through the window next to the casing is an automatic rotary grinding system Fly Pneumatic Brakes, which minimize rotor and wear mechanism and damage due to shock and extreme movement. The 2007 launch of their latest "201" clock model at Geneva Fairs. The time in "201" is displayed using minute telescopic hands that operate through the middle of three orbiting and spinning satellites. The telescopic needle precisely adjusts its length to follow three vectors that mark the minutes: 0-14, 15-44, 45-60. Extended, they allow 201 to show the time on a large, easy-to-read dial. Removed, they allow for a very wearable-sized case, thus providing the wearer with both capabilities.

Urwerk celebrated their 20th anniversary with the creation of UR-T8. This is a new version of the URWERK trademark wandering-clock indication. In addition, the casing can be reversed and restore it to protect the time under the titanium protector.

Collaboration

Opus V for Harry Winston . The UR-103 presentation at Baselworld 2003 raised the profile of URWERK, attracting the attention of Harry Winston Rare Timepieces, for example. Not long afterwards, URWERK was asked to create Opus V for Harry Winston, commencing development in 2004. It was presented a year later. Opus V combines URWERK signature clock with three rotating blocks adorned with numbers on each side to show the clock against vertical and curved lines marked 0-60 on the left side of the button to show the minutes. Opus V has a power backup indicator, a day/night indicator and, behind, a service indicator to notify the owner when the timepiece needs service, in this case every five years. Protector of the Opus V crown in the style of 'gulls'. This watch is presented in pink gold; on platinum; in platinum with full pieces of diamond; and in platinum with a cut diamond baguette.

Mr Downey wore the UR-110RG, the same watch worn by Tony Stark, when you went to see Spider-Man: Homecoming.

Felix Baumgartner and Martin Frei

Felix Baumgartner was born in Schaffhausen, Switzerland in 1975 to a family with a clockmaking history. In 1991 he enrolled in the Solothurn clockmaking school. After obtaining a clockmaking diploma in 1995, Baumgartner moved to Geneva to work as an independent watchmaker and developed elaborate watches, including timeless calendars and minute repeaters as well as restoration commissions for various brands. Soon Baumgartner met Martin Frei while in Zurich and (with his brother Felix, Thomas) they founded URWERK.

Martin Frei was born in Winterthur, Switzerland in 1966. Frei's father was an engineer while his mother was his first art teacher. In 1987, Frei obtained a Graphic Design Diploma from the School of Visual Arts, Zurich. Two years later, he obtained his Bachelor of Arts at Hochschule fÃÆ'¼r Gestaltung und Kunst (School of Art and Design) in Lucerne where he was a student of the Swiss artist Roman Signer. In 1990, Frei completed a one-year course in Video and Film at the same Lucerne design school of art. In 1994 in Lucerne, Frei founded the U.S. (United Swiss artist), making videos and displaying exhibitions and performances. A year later while in Zurich, Frei met with Felix Baumgartner and (with brother Felix, Thomas) they founded URWERK.
