Beard Motorsports is a professional American team of professional car racing teams currently competing in the NASCAR Cup Series Energy Monster. The team was created in 2014 by Mark Beard. The team tried two races in the Cup Series in 2014, with rider Clay Rogers, not making any. After inactive in 2015 and 2016, the team returns part-time in 2017 with Brendan Gaughan.

History
Initial years
The team ran several races of the ARCA Racing Series with Clay Rogers in 2012. The team split the time between the numbers 42 and 45 and scored the best finish fourth at Iowa Speedway. Beard also dropped the Xfinity Series team for himself, Bobby Dotter, Gary Neice, L.D. Ottinger, Butch Miller, and several others.
Energy NASCAR Cup Series Monsters
Mark Beard founded the team during the 2014 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series. The racing team engine was built using Hendrick Motorsports parts and with tests on various east coast tracks, including the New Hampshire Motor Speedway.
The teams are on the entry list for the July race at the Loudon, but pull their car before trying to qualify. The team then attempted to run at Richmond International Raceway two months later with Clay Rogers at Chevrolet No. 1. 13 Beard Oil; However, they failed to qualify for the race. The last time Beard Motorsports attempted to qualify for the race was at Phoenix International Raceway with Rogers, but was unable to race.
The team did not try any races in 2015 or 2016.
In 2017, Beard Motorsports announces it will run the Daytona 500 with Brendan Gaughan at Chevrolet No. 1. 13 Beard Oil. Gaughan's Richard Childress Racing The Xfinity Series pit crew serves cars and teams using Childress machines. The team also bought cars from Leavine Family Racing, Childress satellite; the car had finished 15 in Daytona 500 years earlier with Michael McDowell. The team does not have a NASCAR charter. As one of the two fastest non-charter cars in the qualifiers, Gaughan was able to make the pitch.
Gaughan then secured his 11th place finish in the Daytona 500, the first race in the Cup Series for the team. The team announced it would be entering the other three basketball 2017 races. Gaughan and the team returned at Talladega, finishing 27th. Then on July 1st at Coke Zero 400, Brendan Gaughan drove the team's car to finish seventh place, despite hitting the wall once in the race. The next race is Alabama 500 in Talladega Superspeedway. Gaughan leads the lap and ends the 17th after avoiding the big one then collected in the next crash.
The team returns for Daytona 500 2018, using no. 62 and Gaughan South Point Casino sponsors. The team will run the Talladega race with Brenden Gaughan as his driver.
