The Microsoft Password Change Change Service ( PCNS ) enables synchronization of password changes in Active Directory to Microsoft Identity Integration Server (MIIS 2003), ILM 2007 and FIM 2010 or Microsoft Enterprise Single Service Sign-On (ENTSSO). These components simplify the management of passwords within the organization with a lot of user's Digital identity storage.

The Change Password and service components must be installed on all Domain Controllers in the Active Directory domain that synchronize with the configured target. If the Password Change Notification Service is not installed and runs on a domain controller, any password changes originating from those domain controllers will not be synced
