The Mercedes-Benz GLA-Class is a front engine, front or four wheel drive five-door luxury subcompact crossover SUV car unveiled by the German manufacturer Mercedes-Benz at the 2013 Frankfurt Auto Show. It was previously unveiled to the public at the Shanghai Auto Show in April 2013 as a concept car. Since 2016, it has also been imported and sold by Nissan through Infiniti Brand in North America as an Infiniti QX30 with only slight details/appearance; mechanically, the two cars were almost identical.
The GLA name is designed in accordance with the revised Mercedes-Benz nomenclature for the SUV. It was officially announced in November 2014 to launch the launch in 2015. However, the name GLA-Class has been in accordance with the naming structure since its debut. Under this scheme, the SUV uses the base name "GL", followed by model placement in the Mercedes-Benz hierarchy. The "G" is for gelÃÆ'ändewagen (Germany for off-road vehicles) and alludes to the long-running G-Wagen. This is followed by the letter "L" which acts as a liaison with the letter "A" - GLA into an SUV equivalent to the A-Class.

This concept includes front headlights with laser light projectors, two cameras placed on the front roof rails, 20-inch wheels and ambient fiber-optic interior lighting.
GLA45 AMG Concept (2013)
The GLA45 AMG concept car concept was launched in the 2013 Los Angeles Auto Show, as a high-performance version of the GLA-Class with two-cylinder twin-engined turbocharged AMG 2.0-liter engine with 360 PS (265 kW; 355 hp) rating and 450Ã? m (332Ã, lbf? ft), 4Matic all wheel drive, AMG Speedshift DCT 7-speed transmission with paddle shifter, and equipped with AMG-badged equipment and AMG sports exhaust system with variable propellers electronically controlled system to modulate exhaust note.
GLA45 AMG Concept (2016)

GLA-Class (2014-2016)
The GLA-Class (X 156) production is based on GLA Concept design and was introduced at the Frankfurt Motor Show 2013. Orders have been taken from late November 2013, and arrived at dealers' showrooms during 2014, with Japan and the US in the fall.
GLA facelift (2017-Now)
Mercedes launched a mid-life facelift from the GLA SUV at the 2017 Detroit Motor Show in January 2017. The updated model comes with several cosmetic tweaks on the outside, including a redesigned grille, new front and rear bumper and updated 18-inch alloy wheels.. In addition, bi-xenon headlamps from previous models were replaced by all LED units, while the rear lights were all LEDs and got new design patterns. New Beige Canyon color options are also added. The interior continues the same dashboard layout, although the infotainment system receives a new 8.0-inch screen located above the center console in a free-standing layout.

Marketing
As part of a partnership between Mercedes-Benz and Nintendo, a television commercial featuring Mario driving a Mercedes-Benz GLA was released in the Japanese market in May 2014 to coincide with Japan's launch in that line. Additional ads featuring other Mario characters in the same style were released in November 2014. In addition, Wii U games Mario Kart 8 featured Mercedes-Benz GLA, alongside two other classic Vehicles Mercedes-Benz - Roadster 1957 SL 300 and the 1934 W25 Silver Arrow - as a playable in-game vehicle, are added as part of a game update that can be downloaded post-launch on August 27, 2014 and make GLA the first of today's vehicles the real world can be played in the game Mario Kart . The GLA costume is then added to the Wii U game Super Mario Maker on December 9, 2015; the costumes opened by completing the "Mercedes-Benz Jump'n'Drive", a special rate designed for the game by Mercedes-Benz.
