The nameplate GMC Denali is used by GMC on trucks and top-of-the-line SUVs in the line-up. Vehicles with the Denali trim option carry MSRP (Manufactured Suggested Retail Price) up to 47% higher than regular models. Prices range from $ 40,240 for the GMC Terrain to (in 2016) $ 81,270 for Denali's top-of-the-line Yukon XL. Denali nameplates are often used as badges or status badges, and are especially popular as a cheaper alternative to Cadillac Escalade. The Yukon Denali line usually represents 40% of Yukon's sales in both units and dollars. In 2013, it sold over 75,558 Denali brand units, which accounted for 20% of GMC sales, making it one of GM's most successful sub-brands, all without any advertising or promotion.

Histori
The Denali signing board started as the top version of GMC Yukon for the 1999 model. It was also GM's first attempt to pursue sales of the new Lincoln Navigator for 1998. At the time of its introduction, General Motors decided to give its own luxury Cadillac SUV so that the Denali exterior was shared with Cadillac Escalade 1999, with only the front fascia and lower side body pans that are different from the standard Yukon. Although Yukon was redesigned with Chevrolet Suburban and Chevrolet Tahoe in 2000, Denali, Escalade, and Tahoe Limited/Z71 retained their basic designs in the 1990s.
The "Denali" moniker comes from a name for the traditional, native name of the highest mountain in North America, and also the name of the national park that surrounds the mountain, as well as the state park.
