History

When the route was first enacted in Pennsylvania in 1911, it is now the US Bus 202. It is part of the Legislative Route 178, which runs between Norristown and Buckingham. With the creation of the U.S. Highway System in 1926, the stretch of road between Montgomeryville and Doylestown became part of US 122, which was paved. PA 52 was established simultaneously with US 122 in 1928. In 1930, the naming of PA 52 was concurrently removed from US 122. In 1930, US 122 was replaced by US 202. In addition, the stretch coincided with US 309 (now PA 309). ) is widened to many avenues.

In the 1970s, US 202 was diverted to the Doylestown bypass freeway instead of passing through State Street, heading south with PA 611 before heading east itself. On December 3, 2012, US 202 re-aligned to the newly built parkway between Montgomeryville and Doylestown. US 202 parkway was built to reduce congestion on the previous juxtaposition between Montgomeryville and Doylestown. The previous alignment was defined as SR 2202 in Montgomery County and SR 4202 in Bucks County. As a result of the abolition of US appointment 202 from the previous juxtaposition, several businesses along the previous route experienced a decrease in subscribers. By 2014, several businesses along the former US 202 are pushing the country to establish roads as US Bus 202. to help them get customers. The American Association of State Highway and the Special Committee of Transportation Officers on Routing of the US approved the US Bus 202. appointment on May 13, 2015.
