Security

In April 2010, cross-site scripting vulnerabilities in Jira caused the compromise of two Apache Software Foundation servers. Jira's password database was compromised. The database contains password hashes with no salt, which is vulnerable to dictionary search and cracking tools. Apache advises users to change their password. Atlassian itself is also targeted as part of the same attack and recognizes that inheritance databases with passwords stored in plain text have been compromised.
